jamie jenkins: listen
long enough time
(jamie jenkins)
life, liberty, and happiness,
the lines have become obscured.
our minds have grown clouded
by the dense shades of gray,
we’ve forgotten the meaning
behind the words.
and in this glorious nation of tolerance,
and justice, and freewill, and peace,
we’ve got a right to live life how we see fit
(just as long as the majority’s pleased).
and hatred is too strange a concept
for a child to understand;
we must mold them in our image
so that they can carry on
the biased traditions of this fine land.
we got the blue team in the corner,
we got the red team on the other side.
either red or blue kid,
it’s me against you kid,
all requests for peace will be denied.
alright the “public opinion” deserves some merit,
the people definitely need a choice,
but how can we stand and watch the masses make demands
while drowning out a single no less important voice?
and this isn’t a revolution proposal
(though the idea’s crossed my mind)
we’ve gotta show the men in charge
that we aren’t at their disposal,
they’ve been on the winning team
for a long enough time.
life, liberty, and happiness,
the lines have become obscured.
our minds have grown clouded
by the dense shades of gray,
we’ve forgotten the meaning
behind the words.
